Ronaldinho’s ability to casually balancefootball on his head has led to the latest Instagram craze. Footballing superstars including Neymar, Lionel MessiWillian, Carles PuyolDenilsonDani Alves, and Rivaldo have all taken to Instagram to ‘do the Ronaldinho’.

The latest craze uses a new filter to allow users to don an ‘R10’ headband and balance a ball on their heads, in homage to Ronaldinho’s signature trick. The former Barcelona star was renowned for the top head stall, in which he would balance a ball on his forehead for several seconds.

Messi tried it out for himself on Thursday and he shared the hilarious result with his 102million followers. Neymar also got involved, but he opted for the video version which made it look like he was heading the ball into the air.

Ronaldinho’s former Brazil team-mate Rivaldo gave it a go, as did Chelsea ace Willian. Famous football freestyler Marcel Gurk made it look easy while Douglas Costa and Kevin Prince Boateng tested the filter.

The 97-cap Brazil international also exchanged messages with Robbie Keane, after the Irishman wrote ‘Love this mate!’ In return, Ronaldinho wished the former Tottenham striker a happy retirement, and said: ‘Football will miss you mate!’

Unsurprisingly, Dani Alves also chipped in with his own effort at balancing the ball on his head. Former Portsmouth midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng shared a video in which he dances while juggling the virtual ball.
