BREAKING FAKE NEWS! Gerard Pique says telling RCD Espanyol fans to be quiet was the least he could do after saving Barcelona’s unbeaten league run with a late equalizer at Cornella-El Prat on Sunday.
This incident came at the end of a week in which Espanyol had reported Pique to the Royal Spanish Football Federation for referring to them as “Espanyol from Cornella” after the recent Copa del Rey meeting between the two sides.
The defender was referring to the area of Barcelona where the club have played their home games since 2009 in an attempt, Espanyol believe, to discredit them. However, Pique insisted he was merely stating a geographical fact and complained about the lack of action taken against insults aimed at him and his family during past Catalan derbies.
“Some of the fans here have been directing insults at me and my family for a long time. I was telling them, in general, to be quiet, but maybe I shouldn’t have. I know a lot of good Espanyol fans. Maybe it should have been directed at the club or its owners for not reporting certain things”, the Spaniard told reporters after the game.
“Pique’s wife Shakira has figured out how she could help his boyfriend to avoid tension situations during Catalan derbis”
Trying to low the temperature, Pique’s wife Shakira has figured out how she could help his boyfriend to avoid tension situations during Catalan derbis. Espanyol’s chairman, Chinese businessman Chen Yansheng, is a huge admirer of the Colombian super star. As a result, Shak has started talks with the club to compose a new anthem for them.
Chen would be in to record the videoclip, as well as Espanyol fans and Gerard Pique. Imagine what will happen in Barcelona if people see Shakira dancing in the streets while his boyfriend and Espanyol’s chairman are signing together. That’s dope! See you in the next FAKE NEWS episode.
